What this IP result means
Public IP address
The address above is the internet-facing address for this request. It often belongs to a router, ISP, VPN, proxy, mobile gateway, or organization network rather than one exact device.
Location and network
Location, coordinates, time zone, and ASN data are estimates from IP geolocation and routing data. They are useful for network context, but they are not GPS or a street address.

Quick answers
Common IP questions
Why is my local IP different?
Your computer or phone may use a private local address such as 192.168.x.x. Websites usually see the public address of your router, ISP, VPN, or upstream gateway.
Can an IP address identify me?
Usually no. A public IP can reveal general network and location context, but it does not prove a person, device, or exact physical address by itself.
Why does my IP address change?
Many ISPs assign dynamic addresses. Your visible IP can change after a router restart, when using mobile networks, or when switching Wi-Fi, VPN, or proxy connections.
How do I check another IP?
Enter any valid IPv4 or IPv6 address in the lookup box. For network ranges such as 8.8.8.0/24, use the CIDR tools instead of the single-address lookup.
