IPv4 and IPv6 connection test

Check each address family independently. This test connects your browser to one IPv4-only and one IPv6-only ShowIP endpoint.

IPv6

Each request has an eight-second timeout and sends no cookies. Where available, the displayed IP may belong to your router, mobile network, proxy, or VPN. Some server proxies hide the original client address; a reachable endpoint can therefore have no address to display. Only run the test when you want to contact both endpoints.

What the result tells you

A successful connection confirms that this browser or its configured proxy reached the corresponding IPv4-only or IPv6-only endpoint. Your usual public IP page can show only one family because browsers normally choose a single connection.

“Could not connect” does not prove that your ISP lacks IPv6. A VPN, firewall, browser restriction, DNS filter, or temporary endpoint failure can also block the request. Try another network or check your VPN's IPv6 settings. A proxy can make an endpoint reachable even when your device has no native connection of that family. This is a browser-path test, not proof of your ISP’s native configuration.

Check from a terminal

These commands test the terminal's network path, which can differ from your browser's proxy configuration.
